This Month ON CONSUMERS "DOING THEIR HOMEWORK" FOR IAQ ISSUES
TWO
MINUTE
DRILL
Each month, we include a fastpaced interview with experts
from the indoor environmental
industry, where we hit them
with two minutes of rapid fire
questions. Get ready for some
Two Minute Drill...
This month we get the views
of four different people from
the industry: Donald Weeks,
Carl Grimes, Allison Bailes III,
and Claire Barnett, on the topic
of consumers needing to "Do
Their Homework" with regards
08
September/October 2013
to indoor air quality issues-an expression that just seems
to keep cropping up lately in
discussions about dealing
with our indoor environments.
Sounds simple, but is it really?
Should the general public be
tasked with researching and
understanding potentially
complex situations on their
own when it comes to dealing
with an indoor environmental
problem? If so, how do they
begin to unravel the myriad
of postings on the internet to
decipher the "good information"
from the sales hype and
misinformation?
Both residential and commercial
consumers are at somewhat
of a disadvantage when trying
to separate the good from
the bad. Aside from the
potential occupant exposure
consequences for many indoor
environmental issues, there are
a host of liability, financial and
emotional considerations that
are often associated, as well.
We clearly don't expect to
answer all these questions in
a couple of minutes, but our
industry experts hit on a several
key points during this month's
video segment of Two-Minute
Drill.
