Miss Sustainable Continued from previous page physically and developmen- tally, for life." Seeds for a Future is working to combat this heartbreaking crisis. In rural Guatemala, adults on average have less than a 6th grade education. The program takes a holis- tic approach by offering both hands-on education with re- gard to community and family gardening, harvesting and nu- trition instruction, as well as a community library where com- puter training, adult education, women's health education and much needed pre-school pro- grams are taught. Nearly 500 families are currently taking part in the various programs. I encourage you to check out the Seeds for a Future web- site (http://bit.ly/1mbG9FO) to learn more, and to follow them on Facebook (http://on.fb. me/1jJzwQG) too! The streets are cobble- stone, the sidewalks narrow, and the people friendly, and Lake Atitlan - Photo by Stacey Champion Antigua - Photo by Stacey Champion 48 July 2014
