You cannot move forward by simply treading water in any industry or endeavor. This is especially true when it comes to technology and media. The impetus for creating an online presence for disseminating nformation about our indoor environments was the seeming lack of readily-available, trustworthy sources. There had been a seeming disconnect between industry and consumers, both commercial and residential, that we had observed for years prior to launching Healthy Indoors Magazine and its sister information site, IAQ.net. While there was (and still is) no shortage of material about this topic from would-be solution providers clogging the internet, much of that is sales promotion, and therefore the credibility of such content may be questionable. Even the information from reputable sources like the U.S. EPA, World Health Organization (WHO) and other knowledgeable authorities, while valuable, can be difficult and time-consuming to find online. Consumers and profes- sionals were left with the daunting task of seeking out the right answers to their indoor environmental questions. We debuted our online presence nearly three years ago, with the goal of helping to bridge this industry-consumer informational gap, by initially providing both a free magazine and a web site to this end. Our unique digital publication, Healthy Indoors Magazine, leveraged a host of real-time technologies to incorporate video, social media, and reader interaction that was never before possible with print. The result was a magazine that could actually interact with readers, allowing them to share and comment like never before in this emerging environmental space. Our May 2016 issue marks a new chapter for us, along with some note- worthy changes! Healthy Indoors is sporting a newly-branded look, from our logo to the magazine's layout. We are now under the umbrella of I AQ Media, Inc., and we will be embarking on several exciting new initiatives for both live and virtual events over the upcoming year, and technology innovations to further enhance our offerings. What won't be changing is our sincere commitment to providing our readership with timely, credible content on the important topics that affect their indoor world.
