Endotoxin Exposures—A Serious IAQ Issue Often Overlooked HI‘s Bob Krell had an opportunity to sit down with IAQ industry veteran, Tim Hebert, after his presentation at the IAQ & Energy 2018 Conference earlier this year to discuss some key areas involving bacterial contamination indoors that are often overlooked. The focus of his presentation at the event was how endotoxins from gram-negative bacteria in moist indoor environments can adversely affect occupant’s health. Tim and Bob have a long history dating back to the 1990s, where they met while serving together on the board of the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA), and they have an informative and entertaining chat about a variety of indoor environmental industry topics. He is an AHA Certified Healthcare Constructor as well as a Florida Mechanical Contractor and Mold Assessor. He serves as the Principal Investigator responsible for the development and implementation of targeted testing strategies to evaluate failed building systems and the subsequent microbial loading within water-damaged structures and ocean-going vessels. (1995-1997). He has provided on-site instruction of building science courses for numerous clients including federal, state and local agencies, school districts, and Fortune 100 companies as well as the United States Navy, Atlantic Fleet.
