Session 803 - Doing Better for Less: R-30 Walls and Beyond-Part 2 - William Turner & David Johnston

December 8, 2019

Iaq & energy 2019 Conference, Session 803: There are many ways to design and construct a high-performance wall system that will meet or exceed the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code. This presentation will focus on a wall system that the presenters believe is the most cost-effective approach in cold climates such as Maine, with cold, wet winters and hot, humid summers. The approach reduces the likelihood of condensation occurring both during a winter construction period and also during long-term occupancy. It has been implemented in a variety of building types and was first used in 1981 by the presenters.
